The Burghfield Common Federation
In October 2023 the governing boards of Mrs Bland's Infant and Nursery School and Garland Junior School dissolved, and a new federation governing board was formed. This was the first step in forming the Burghfield Common Federation and means that both schools are now governed by the same board.
The establishment and membership of a federation means that the governors and school leaders commit to improving the outcomes and life chances for all children across the federation. We are immensely proud of all our governors, who each bring a diversity of knowledge, skills and experience to help in the running of our schools and ensure we make best use of all our resources.
Governors are elected or appointed for a four-year term in accordance with our Instrument of Government dated 18 October 2023, which was approved by West Berkshire Council. If you are interested in becoming a governor, further information can be found on the 'Becoming a Governor'
